Marathon is Over, but I’m Still Eating Turkey Sandwiches

I took my lunch to work today. And guess what. After a full weekend of eating Turkey Sandwiches, I got back on that horse and ate another one for lunch. Top that you Son Bitch.

I don’t really like taking my lunch to work. Eating lunch is an event for me and I normally like to go out to celebrate getting through half of the day.

But the real problem is that I normally eat my Lunch way too early and by 3pm I am starving again. It’s rare that I have something to snack on, so when I come home, I absolutely gorge myself with junk. And that’s exactly what happened today. I raided some leftovers that had been hanging around since before the marathon.

My sandwich today finished off the remaining deli Turkey from the Marathon. But DO NOT FEAR. I went to King Soopers last night and got some Maple Roasted Turkey. I looking forward to making on hell of a sandwich with that shit.

Marathon Recap Day 2

Strangely enough, the Turkey Sandwich Marathon has also turned into a ‘No Shower Marathon”.

So far, this is my weekend: Turkey Sandwiches, Football and only leaving my apartment to walk my dog or to go up to the grocery store to get some eating supplies.

All homemade Turkey Sandwiches on Saturday.  King Soopers Rotisserie Turkey, with Provelone on whole wheat hoagie rolls.  I’ve complimented these meals with Wheat Thins and Jello.  I like Jello.

And big thanks to the University of Idaho Vandals for covering the 25 point spread last night at Washington State.

Turkey Sandwich Marathon: Day 1

Day one of the Turkey Sandwich Marathon is off to a flying start. As promised, the marathon started with Lunch today. I couldn’t stray too far from work today, so I went with the Turkey Bacon Wrap (sans Guac) from Blake Street Tavern. Not bad. It did the trick, but it has severely processed Turkey and could use some Ranch Dressing or something.

For dinner, I did indeed go to Schlotzsky’s. I went with the Turkey Original, sans olives (why do they put olives on so many sandwiches?) and mayo. It comes with some kind of special sauce already on it, so why the double condiments? I’ve had better sandwiches from Schlotzsky’s. Turkey Sand’s are not their forte.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I got the sandwich to go and I do have to admit that I also stopped at McDonald’s and got a cheeseburger. (Shut up. I just finished playing tennis and was super hungry.)

I ate the cheeseburger before I even got home. My friend Skinner calls this a “Road Burg” – the practice of getting an extra burger for the ride home.

Breakfast tomorrow morning will be interesting. I probably just slap my own TS together and roll with that. It won’t be the first time I’ve had a Turkey Sandwich for breakfast.

The Marathon Has Begun

So far so good on the Turkey Sandwich Marathon.  I had a Turkey Bacon Wrap from neighboring Blake Street Tavern to get this party started.  I would have taken a picture, but I was too fucking hungry to mess around with that shit.  I think I’m going with Schlotzsky’s tonight for dinner.

And, breaking news – Which Wich has opened a store in The ‘Tone (San Antonio for those of you who haven’t lived there).  Click here for more details.

Turkey Sandwich Marathon

I think MTV invented the Marathon Weekend. Cribs Marathon, Real World Marathon, Road Rules Marathon. Nothing but the same shit for an entire weekend. Although I will admit that I have wasted away an entire Sunday Night watching the Gene Simmons Family Jewels Marathon.

I’m going to borrow this concept and launch a Turkey Sandwich Marathon this weekend. Mrs. Turkey Sandwich is going to be out of town, Football Season is in full swing – so it looks like the perfect opportunity to eat nothing but Turkey Sandwiches.

From Lunch on Friday to Dinner on Sunday, every meal I eat will involve a Turkey Sandwich. I will follow up with Special Reports and live cut-ins throughout the weekend.

For you Turkey Sandwich Report fanatics (and you know who you are) I encourage you to follow the play by play action on my Twitter page.
