More than ever before, I needed a Turkey Sandwich for Lunch today. It’s been a really long week and good meals have been hard to come by.
The problem was that I’ve been in Washington DC this week and I didn’t think this city was going to be able to deliver. I was staying at the Churchill Hotel last night, which is near Georgetown and Connecticut Avenue was littered with wussy-ass coffee shops, shoe stores and shit-hole Greek restaurants. It was looking bleak.
My best bet was this place called Cosi. I don’t know what the fuck Cosi means, and it did look to be a little in the same vein as Au bon Pain (which blows), but it had a Roasted Turkey and Brie on the menu, so I went for it. I really had my doubts at first, but this sandwich won me over. The honey mustard was pretty damn tasty and I like how they have a wrapper around the sandwich since I’m a germ phobe and i didn’t wash my hands before eating.
Cosi, you’re kind of a wuss (I mean your cheese choice is Brie), but you make an ok Turkey Sandwich.

Hey listen, man, next time you’re in DC I recommend the Broadway Melt from Soho Grill at 20th and Pennsylvania. You got turkey, havarti, avocado, lite mayo and sprouts on pita. I normally don’t care for the sprouts, but somehow in this case they complete it. The man grills the turkey and cheese together and then places it in the bread with everything else. None of this toasting-the-whole-sandwich shit. The result is juicy and tasty. It’s about 5 bucks and comes with a pickle. They close about 3, so don’t get there late.
